Greetings,
I’m redacted but you can just call me the Traveling Hobbyist. I like to collect things (mostly records) and go places (mostly record stores). I’ve been collecting records and exploring independent record stores since I was in high school.
This blog exists as a bit of a journal for all the independent record stores I visit in my travels, the records I bought, the things I did, and the people I met along the way. There are plenty of people out there who can tell you what records should be in your collection and which pressing is the most valuable; I’m the alien who’s going to tell you what record store you should buy it from.
To be fair, I like to do a lot of other things as well. I will share all of the other unique and interesting places I have visited on my travels that I think are worth bringing attention to. Here, you can see all the cool record stores and places I’ve been to, what I thought, and what I bought. You can sign up for my email newsletter here, for updates on the vinyl record industry, music releases I’m interested in, and whatever else I deem newsworthy.
Feel free to reach out to me with questions, record and bookstore suggestions, praise, or rude comments. It’s ok, I can handle it.
Act like a human. Shop Independent.
